Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç is making statements at a press conference. President Koç will announce whether he will participate in the Turkish Cup or not.

Ali Koç's statements are as follows;

I hope this year will be one where Turkish football achieves success abroad as a country and steps towards a fair competitive environment at home.

I will try to keep my speech as short as possible. I will complete the topics I want to address with questions. We aim to finish within 2 hours.

The point we have reached in social media and among fans, our decision regarding the Turkish Cup, how we arrived at this decision, what has happened since April 2, and along with this, I aim to make you question whether justice is the foundation of property by providing some examples regarding rights and justice issues in Turkish football.

We were elected in 2018 with great expectations and by a large margin. Our goal was very clear. That’s why there was a significant difference in the election. Fenerbahçe was going through a drought period, not being able to become champions for 4 years. We were playing in front of 10-15 thousand people in the stands. Ending this drought, reconciling with the fans, improving economically... Achieving financial independence as soon as possible, at least putting ourselves on a path of no return. It was to continue developing the vision of being the world's most successful sports club. Although we achieved serious successes in 2 of our 3 goals, the past seasons did not develop as we aimed in terms of football.

Flagship football; the desire and expectation increased even more as we did not achieve success. There was not enough return for the serious successes in the other two areas. We understand this. In this sense, we have disappointed our community. We are also very saddened. We all experienced disappointment together, we are sorry. Naturally, we are unhappy.

REFERENCE TO GALATASARAY

The unnamed greatness of Fenerbahçe comes from its strong and independent character. We have worked day and night to ensure that this character is not compromised and that our community, which has its own remedy for every problem, does not bow its head. While our eternal rival indulges in black market tickets and money from illegal betting, and puts the name of illegal betting sites on a century-old jersey, we are proud that we did not put a single illegal lira into Fenerbahçe's coffers.

Fenerbahçe competes at the highest level internationally in 8 of its 9 branches. Naturally, when there is no success in football, you cannot experience the pride of that success.

Did they have no management deficiencies? While everyone can be champions with their mistakes and shortcomings, for some reason, we could not. We were always expected to be flawless. Last season, we had a flawless season, achieving the highest points in our history. We won 4 out of 6 derbies and lost 1. When they could not stop us, they pushed our rival.

"YOU CANNOT EXPLAIN IT WITH THE NATURAL FLOW OF LIFE"

The public and the press did not talk about the mistakes of our rivals as much as they did about ours recently. Mistakes are punished more than crimes. I am not just saying this for our period. I do not know if it is being examined by the media, but in the points table of the last 10 years, there is a 1-point difference between us and Galatasaray, and a 5-championship difference. You cannot explain this with the natural flow of life.

If you look at the last 5 years, we are 5 points ahead of them, but we still have no championship. When looking at the numbers in the last 10 years, Fenerbahçe does not have a graph of failure. For some reason, the numbers do not reflect the realities in Turkish football. It is a situation that is difficult to explain.
