Due to extreme heat in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, working outdoors has been prohibited between 12:00 and 16:00 from July 24 to July 27.
In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), working outdoors has been prohibited during certain hours of the day due to extreme heat.
WORKING FOR 4 HOURS AT NOON HAS BEEN PROHIBITED
In a statement from the TRNC Ministry of Labor and Social Security, it was noted that the Meteorology Department's forecasts regarding air temperature and the risks of working under high temperatures in terms of occupational health and safety were highlighted. It was announced that continuous outdoor work is prohibited from 12:00 to 16:00 from Thursday, July 24, to Sunday, July 27.
In the statement, it was emphasized that employers in the agriculture and construction sectors could determine their working hours, provided they comply with the ban. It was stated, "As part of early start work, transportation of aggregate, ready-mixed concrete, other construction materials, and construction machinery to the site of construction work can be carried out."
The TRNC Meteorology Department had announced earlier in the week that the air temperature on the island is expected to range between 41-44 degrees in the inland areas and 34-37 degrees along the coasts from July 22 to July 28.
