It has been claimed that the Israeli administration, which has been reluctant to support efforts to end conflicts in the Middle East, provided intelligence to US President Donald Trump suggesting that Iran was preparing a new assassination plot against it. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the intelligence shared by Israel with Washington has heightened concerns over the renewed escalation of tensions in the region.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Israel shared intelligence with the Washington administration indicating that Iran has prepared a new assassination plot targeting US President Donald Trump. Speaking in Ankara, Trump stated, "I am number one on the Iranians' kill list," acknowledging the threat he faces.

NEW INTELLIGENCE FROM ISRAEL TO THE US

The WSJ report, citing Israeli and US officials, revealed that Israeli intelligence had obtained information suggesting Iran is working on a new assassination plan aimed at Trump. The report noted that this intelligence was shared with Washington in recent days, while US authorities have not made an official statement regarding the claim. The White House, the Israeli government, and Iran have also refrained from commenting on the report.

TRUMP: I AM THE NUMBER ONE TARGET

Addressing the issue during a press conference in Ankara, Trump stated that he is aware of the threats from Iran, saying, "I am number one on the Iranians' kill list." Trump added that he has faced similar threats in the past and that security measures are maintained at the highest level.

TENSIONS RISING AGAIN

The report reminded that Iran continues its rhetoric of avenging Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force, who was killed in a 2020 US operation. It was noted that despite the recent ceasefire between Iran and the US, tensions have risen again due to clashes in the Strait of Hormuz and mutual harsh statements.

TARGETED AT THE FUNERAL AS WELL

During the funeral ceremony of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, anti-US slogans were chanted, and some protesters carried banners targeting Trump. The new intelligence claim brought to light by WSJ has led to interpretations that the tensions between the two countries have escalated to a new level following these messages at the funeral.
