Yerlikaya shared, saying "The blood of our martyrs did not go in vain!" Allegedly, 4 high-level terrorists were neutralized.

The Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, announced that with the "Gürz-2" operation carried out in the rural area of Siirt province, 4 terrorists, Semra Ayverdi with the code name Benda Amed and Seyithan Sencer with the code name Baran Hemlin, who were in the orange category, and Yakup Nişo with the code name Sarı İbrahim and Bişenk Durmuş with the code name Destina Botan, who were in the gray category, were neutralized.

According to the information shared by Minister Yerlikaya, the "Gürz-2" operation was carried out in the rural area of Pervari as a result of intelligence work conducted by the General Command of Gendarmerie Intelligence and the Counterterrorism Department, coordinated by the Security Corps Command; Siirt, Şırnak, and Van Provincial Gendarmerie Commands. Air Force aircraft, ATAK attack helicopters, and J-SİHA support were provided during the operation, in which the Gendarmerie Special Operations (JÖH), Gendarmerie Special Security Command (JÖAK), Gendarmerie Commando teams, and Security Guards made direct contact with the terrorists. The terrorists affiliated with the Separatist Terrorist Organization (STO) were neutralized along with their weapons.

INVOLVED IN 9 ATTACKS

The neutralized terrorists were identified as Semra Ayverdi with the code name Benda Amed and Seyithan Sencer with the code name Baran Hemlin, who were in the orange category, and Yakup Nişo with the code name Sarı İbrahim and Bişenk Durmuş with the code name Destina Botan, who were in the gray category. It was determined that these terrorists were involved in a total of 9 attacks, resulting in the martyrdom of 6 security personnel and 5 civilians, and the injury of 6 security personnel and 11 civilians.

The attacks in which the terrorists were involved are as follows:

• Arson and roadblock attack on the Tunceli-Erzincan highway on July 31, 2015,
• Attack on the base area in the rural area of Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak province on August 21, 2015, resulting in the martyrdom of 1 security personnel and the injury of 2 security personnel,
• Roadblock attack in the rural area of Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak province on August 12, 2016, resulting in the martyrdom of 2 security personnel and the injury of 1 security personnel,
• Clash in the rural area of Pervari district of Siirt province on September 1, 2016, resulting in the martyrdom of 1 security personnel and the injury of 1 security personnel,
• Clash in the rural area of Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak province on May 24, 2017, resulting in the martyrdom of 1 security personnel and the injury of 2 security personnel,
• Arson attack in the rural area of Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak province on September 17, 2018, resulting in the martyrdom of 2 civilians,
• Explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) in a minibus carrying workers involved in the construction of Şırnak-Beytüşşebap highway on July 15, 2019, resulting in the martyrdom of 1 civilian and the injury of 2 civilians,
• Explosion of an IED during road improvement works in the rural area of Çatak district of Van province on June 8, 2020, resulting in the martyrdom of 2 civilians and the injury of 9 civilians,
• Attack on a security personnel in the rural area of Çatak district of Van province on October 13, 2022, resulting in the martyrdom of 1 security personnel.

"OUR MARTYRS' BLOOD DID NOT GO IN VAIN"

Yerlikaya, who shared the details of the operation, said, "We are determined. We will eradicate these traitors from our sacred homeland. We will suffocate the terrorists one by one. Our martyrs' blood did not go in vain. I congratulate our Air Force Command, our Heroic Gendarmerie, and our Security Guards. May Allah protect you. The prayers of our nation are with you. We will not stop until the last terrorist is neutralized, we will not hesitate," he said.
