Brentford, competing in the English Premier League, has extended the contract of 20-year-old midfielder Yunus Emre Konak, whom they added to their squad from Sivasspor in 2024, by 5 years.

LOANED TO LINCOLN CITY

Brentford announced that the young player will play on loan for Lincoln City, one of the English Championship teams, during the 2026-2027 season.

'I REALLY LIKE YUNUS'

Brentford Technical Director Keith Andrews said the following in his statement on the club's official website:

"I really like Yunus. I have closely followed his development, it even goes back to my days as a set-piece coach. When he arrived here, he knew very little English, and thanks to his commitment to Brentford, he became a very popular member of the team. I value him highly. I am very happy that I was able to tie him down with a long-term contract so he can continue his development. It is really important for Yunus to continue his development and play football in the first team in an environment we believe will benefit his game. We really saw the benefits of him playing regularly at Oxford last season. The easiest thing would have been to keep him in our squad, but what matters for him is taking the next step in his development. He had a really good pre-season and you can see the improvement in his game. He looks in good shape and I am very confident he can have a good season there."
