A heavy blow was dealt to drug traffickers in the İskenderun district of Hatay. In a major operation carried out by customs enforcement teams at the port, millions of drug pills hidden inside a container loaded with furniture were seized, and 3 suspects related to the incident were detained. RISK ANALYSIS SOUNDED THE ALARM
Teams from the Hatay Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate, affiliated with the Ministry of Trade, subjected an export load arriving at İskenderun Port to a risk analysis as part of World Customs Day on January 26. During the evaluations, suspicious elements were detected in the container.

In the container, which was thoroughly searched, 1 million 392 thousand drug pills were found cleverly hidden inside furniture items. It was reported that the market value of the seized drugs is approximately 560 million TL.
3 SUSPECTS DETAINED
Within the scope of the operation, three suspects deemed to be connected to the incident were captured and detained. While the drugs were confiscated, security measures at the port were increased.
It was reported that the investigation related to the incident is being conducted in a multi-faceted manner under the coordination of the İskenderun Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
