A new heatwave will be effective across Turkey from July 26 to August 2. While temperatures in Ankara will exceed 40 degrees, İzmir will reach 40, Antalya 38, and Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa will see 46 degrees. The meteorology department has issued warnings about strong winds, and Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen specifically advised the residents of Ankara not to go outside, especially on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that a new heat wave of African origin will be effective across the country starting from July 26. It was stated that the temperature is expected to be 4 to 8 degrees above seasonal norms, and this situation is expected to continue until August 2.

SCORCHING HEAT IN METROPOLISES

Weather Forecast Specialist Fevzi Burak Tekin reported that temperatures will rise to 40 degrees in Ankara on Monday, while in Istanbul it will be between 34-36 degrees, and in Izmir, it will be between 40-41 degrees. It is expected to reach 46 degrees in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa, 46 degrees in Batman, 44 degrees in Mardin and Siirt, and 42 degrees in Şırnak.

STRONG WIND WARNING

The meteorology department stated that in the southern Marmara, the inner parts of the Central Mediterranean, the south and east of Central Anatolia, and the Aegean Region, the wind will blow at speeds of 30-50 km/h in places, urging caution.

CNN TURK Meteorology Advisor Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen emphasized that there is a high risk of forest fires in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Şen stated, "In the surroundings of Antalya, Manisa, and Aydın, temperatures will rise to 42-44 degrees. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, temperatures in Ankara will exceed 40 degrees. Ankarans should stay indoors if possible on these days."

Experts reminded that especially those with chronic illnesses, the elderly, and children should not be outdoors between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
