ERDOĞAN ANNOUNCED THE AGREEMENT
The first agreement for sale was made at the INDO Defence 2025 fair held in Indonesia. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced this development on his social media account with the following words:
"I want to share a very important and beautiful development regarding our national combat aircraft KAAN with my nation… Within the framework of the agreement we signed with our friendly and brotherly Indonesia, 48 units of KAAN will be produced in Turkey and exported to Indonesia. Local capabilities possessed by Indonesia will also be utilized in the production of KAAN. I hope this agreement, which showcases the progress and the point reached by our domestic and national defense industry, will be beneficial for both Turkey and Indonesia. I send my greetings and thanks to my esteemed counterpart, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who played a significant role in the signing of the agreement with his determination."
