The in-car footage of the accident in which an IETT bus collided with 10 vehicles in Beyoğlu, resulting in the death of one person, has emerged. In Istanbul Beyoğlu, a moving bus was involved in an accident. While 6 people were injured, the municipal employee Uğur Tilkici (34), who was seriously injured, passed away in the hospital where he was being treated. The accident occurred on Tuesday, July 22, around 10:30 AM on Tarlabaşı Boulevard. According to reports, the IETT bus, which was moving on the road, crashed into 10 vehicles in front of it due to a brake failure. In the accident, 6 people were injured, including 2 cleaning staff who were reported to be working for the Beyoğlu Municipality. Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were transferred to nearby hospitals after initial interventions at the scene.
ACCIDENT MOMENT CAPTURED BY SECURITY AND CITY CAMERAS
The moment of the accident was recorded by the security cameras of nearby businesses. The footage shows the IETT bus rapidly moving in the right lane and crashing into the vehicles in front of it. A total of 10 vehicles were damaged in the accident. A pedestrian passing by at the time of the accident narrowly escaped being hit by the bus. The images captured by the city camera show the IETT bus moving into the left lane before crashing into the vehicles in front.
HEAVILY INJURED PERSON PASSES AWAY
In the accident, it was reported that municipal employee Uğur Tilkici, who was injured in the head, was taken to Taksim Training and Research Hospital and was in critical condition and intubated. It was also learned that Abdullah S. (33), Emirhan S., and taxi driver Yasin K. along with 3 of their passengers were lightly injured in the accident. Despite all interventions at the hospital, Uğur Tilkici could not be saved and passed away.
IETT DRIVER RELEASED
On the other hand, IETT bus driver Fadli A. was taken into custody by the Beyoğlu District Police Department teams after the accident. It was learned that the driver was questioned at the police station. IETT driver Fadli A. was referred to the courthouse for the charges of 'causing injury to multiple people by negligence' and 'damaging property'. After giving his statement to the prosecutor, the driver was released.

Footage from the vehicle's interior camera regarding the moment of the accident has emerged. In the footage, the bus driver is seen standing up while the bus is in motion when the accident occurs. As the driver swerves, the bus crashes into the vehicles. Before the accident, it can be seen that the driver stood up while the bus was moving.
