The English actor Kenneth Colley, who portrayed Admiral Piett in the Star Wars series, has passed away at the age of 87. It was announced that the master actor died at his home in Kent, England, due to pneumonia that developed after contracting Covid-19.
In a statement made by his manager Julian Owen, it was noted that Colley was hospitalized after injuring his arm from a fall, where he quickly contracted Covid and subsequently developed pneumonia. The famous actor reportedly passed away peacefully on Monday in the presence of close friends.
60-YEAR CAREER, UNFORGETTABLE CHARACTERS
Julian Owen expressed the following about Colley: "Ken Colley was one of our best character actors, with a career spanning 60 years. He brought unforgettable characters to life across a wide range of mediums, from theater to film, television to animated productions."
Colley appeared as the commander of Darth Vader's flagship in the Star Wars universe in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He also voiced the same character in the animated film Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out, released in 2012.
