WHO IS NIHAT GENÇ?
Nihat Genç was born in 1956 in the Faroz district of Trabzon. He is known as a journalist, writer, and television presenter with a sharp tongue and critical style. He began his education at Trabzon Commerce High School and later enrolled in Istanbul Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy and Ankara Banking and Insurance Vocational School, but left these schools for political reasons. After graduating from Hacettepe University Health Administration Vocational School in 1983, he worked as a civil servant for a total of nine years in the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Culture.
Genç began his writing career in his youth by working as a technical staff in newspapers and magazines, and later his articles were published in Leman magazine. In 1989, he published his first book "Dün Korkusu" (Fear of Yesterday), followed by many works such as "Bu Çağın Soylusu" (The Noble of This Age), "Ofli Hoca / Şeriatta Ayıp Yoktur" (Ofli Hoca / There is No Shame in Sharia), "Köpekleşmenin Tarihi" (The History of Becoming Dog-like), "Modern Çağın Canileri" (The Killers of the Modern Age), and "Veryansın". In his works, he generally addressed social issues, political events, and the ironic aspects of daily life.
In his television career, he hosted the program "Nihat Genç ile Ne Var Ne Yok?" on Sky Türk between 2003-2008, and later produced programs such as "Nihat Genç ile Veryansın" on Avrasya TV, "Nihat Genç Ko-nu-şu-yor!" on Halk TV, and "Nihat Genç ile Ver-yansın" on Ulusal Kanal.
