Millions of pages of new documents leaked from the Jeffrey Epstein files have revealed that the billionaire abuser was also involved in global strategic maneuvers. According to the documents, Epstein and his associates identified the Somaliland Region, recognized as a commercial target many years ago by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu due to its strategic location.
According to newly released documents regarding billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while being prosecuted for establishing a network of sexual exploitation and prostitution of underage girls in the U.S., Epstein and his associates initially viewed the Somaliland Region, recognized by Israel, as a strategic and commercial target for many years.
In the publicly released part of the investigation files, it was seen that topics such as the "benefits to other countries" of recognizing Somaliland and "the recognition of Somaliland" were discussed in emails sent to Epstein.
THE SUBJECT WAS MENTIONED IN EMAILS FROM 14 YEARS AGO
In an email dated 2012, Epstein noted that there were "large, clean, and unused water reserves" around the Port of Berbera in Somaliland, suggesting the establishment of a water company in the region. The correspondence stated that direct maritime transportation could be made to Saudi Arabia, and that the project was quick, profitable, and logistically easy.
During the same period, it was proposed to establish a film and media center named "Somaliwood Studios" in Somaliland; it was emphasized that this center would create regional and cultural impact.
$50 MILLION FINANCING TO SEARCH FOR OIL
In documents from 2013, a request for $50 million in financing for oil exploration activities in three major blocks in Somaliland was made, and it was noted that the oil potential was "positive."
ISRAEL WAS THE FIRST COUNTRY TO RECOGNIZE SOMALILAND
Years after all these correspondences, Israel became the first country to recognize Somaliland, which declared its independence.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced on December 26, 2025, that they recognized Somaliland as an "independent and sovereign state."
Somaliland declared its unilateral separation from Somalia in 1991, but it was not recognized as an independent state by the international community. The Somali administration views the region as an integral part of the country and emphasizes that all international agreements are solely under the authority of Mogadishu.
EPSTEIN'S DEATH AND CRIMES
Jeffrey Epstein was being prosecuted for sexually abusing dozens of girls under the age of 18, the youngest being 14, and for establishing a prostitution network. He was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Center Jail in Manhattan, New York, on August 10, 2019.
The disclosed case files included famous names such as Prince Andrew, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Ehud Barak, Al Gore, Kevin Spacey, Michael Jackson, David Copperfield, Alan Dershowitz, and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. According to the investigation by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice, no evidence was found regarding the allegations of a "client list" consisting of these famous names. It was officially announced that Epstein had committed suicide in his cell.
