Hamas Political Bureau Member and leader in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, who reacted strongly to the killing of 37 Palestinians by the Israeli army in the last 24 hours, warned that there would be serious consequences if Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

According to a written statement from Hamas, Hamas Political Bureau Member and leader in the Gaza Strip, Hayye, conducted a series of phone calls with mediators and some unnamed international parties following the Israeli army's killing of 37 Palestinians in the last 24 hours.

The statement noted that Hayye emphasized during the talks that Israel has been committing "crimes and massacres almost every day" in Gaza, continuing this with "baseless excuses and lies," and that he rejected and condemned this situation.

WARNINGS ON CEASEFIRE

Hayye warned about the consequences and repercussions of the "clear violation" of the ceasefire agreement, stating, "The resistance's commitment to the agreement and respect for it requires forcing the occupation to fulfill its obligations and preventing it from continuing its crimes." Hamas held Israel responsible for the failure to find a solution to the issue of "Palestinians trapped in tunnels in the occupied areas" in Rafah.

In Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, many Palestinians became trapped after the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, and Israel did not allow the exit of Palestinians, whom it claimed were members of Hamas's military wing, the Izzedin al-Qassam Brigades, despite the efforts of mediating countries. Despite U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement in mid-January that the second phase of the ceasefire had begun, issues related to the ceasefire process in Gaza, including those trapped in tunnels, remained unresolved.

"ISRAELI ATTACKS AS AN ATTEMPT TO UNDERMINE THE CEASEFIRE"

On the other hand, Palestinian resistance groups reported that Israel's dangerously increased attacks in the Gaza Strip were a clear attempt to undermine efforts to solidify the ceasefire. According to a written statement from Hamas, a joint statement was issued by the National and Islamic Forces Follow-up Committee (a structure that includes most Palestinian resistance groups).

In a meeting held by the committee in Gaza, it was noted that Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire and that attacks had dangerously escalated following the establishment of the Gaza Strip Administration National Committee. The statement reported that the attacks peaked at dawn yesterday, targeting buildings, shelters, and police stations, resulting in the deaths of many Palestinians, most of whom were women and children.

The committee stated that these attacks aimed to undermine the efforts of Palestinian groups to strengthen the ceasefire and clearly indicated the intention of the Israeli government and army to evade their obligations. The statement shared that since the announcement of the Gaza Strip Administration National Committee on January 17, 71 people had been killed in Israeli attacks, and 140 others had been injured, most of them severely.

The committee also reported that during this process, Gaza had been subjected to 96 air and artillery attacks, 61 direct attacks targeting civilians, and that 17 houses had been destroyed or bombed, including their occupants. The statement emphasized that the Israeli army continued bombardment and destruction in the "yellow line" under occupation, calling on the U.S. administration, mediators, and the international community to stop the attacks and pressure the Israeli government to end the violations. The statement called for an end to the targeting of displaced civilians, shelters, homes, and residential areas, emphasizing that these attacks undermined all efforts to transition to the second phase of the ceasefire.

"A BLOODY MESSAGE FROM THE OCCUPIERS"

The committee stated that Israel had given a "bloody message" with these attacks, indicating that it would not allow the Gaza Strip Administration National Committee to fulfill its duties, aiming to obstruct all efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people and end the humanitarian tragedy. The statement reiterated that the party attempting to thwart all efforts to stop the war and ensure stability was the Israeli government.

The committee also addressed the efforts regarding the reopening of the Rafah Border Crossing, which is expected to open today. The statement emphasized that Rafah is a Palestinian-Egyptian border crossing and that Israel's interference with the movement of passengers through the crossing is contrary to international law, constituting a violation of the siege and freedom of movement. The committee called on mediators to take necessary steps to ensure the safety of the border crossing and passengers and to allow those trapped abroad from Gaza to cross without any conditions.
