A hooded suspect in Esenyurt, Istanbul, attempted to open the door of a parked taxi at a bus stop. The taxi drivers, noticing the situation, chased the suspect for a while, but when he got cornered in a dead-end street, he pulled out a machete from his waist and began to chase those who were pursuing him. A hooded individual who came to the street where the taxi stand is located in the Yenikent neighborhood of Esenyurt, Istanbul, last night, forced the door of a parked taxi.

At that moment, taxi drivers and people nearby noticed the situation and began to chase the suspect. During the chase, one of the taxi drivers threw a metal cup at the suspect. The suspect, who entered the dead end, started to chase his pursuers with a machete he pulled from his waist.

Upon this, the taxi drivers withdrew. The suspect entered side streets and lost his trail. It was learned that the taxi drivers did not file a complaint after the incident. The events were recorded by a mobile phone camera.

Taxi driver Muzaffer Can, who described the moments, said, "03:00 AM is our shift change time. I went to the stand to wait for my driver friend. When I looked down from the second floor, I saw a person wandering around the vehicle and forcing the doors. I got suspicious and informed my friends. I said, 'This is definitely a thief.' We went outside to hand him over to the security forces. When we surrounded him by saying, 'Are you waiting for a taxi?' he started to run away. One of my friends threw the cup he had. We chased him to the side street. When he entered the dead end, he pulled out a large machete from his waist. This time, he started to chase us. We were the ones chasing, and we ended up running away," he said.
