While the visit of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission to İmralı remains a topic of discussion, AK Party member Şamil Tayyar made striking claims regarding the details of the meeting. Tayyar suggested that the members of the delegation did not take photos with the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, but claimed that the meeting was recorded on video. He stated that two questions were posed to Öcalan during the visit.
The process of a Terror-Free Turkey, initiated by the historic call of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, saw the establishment of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, which met yesterday with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan at the Imralı High Security Prison.
STRIKING CLAIM FROM AK PARTY'S ŞAMİL TAYYAR
As curiosity grows about what transpired and was discussed during the commission's visit to Imralı, former AK Party MP Şamil Tayyar made claims regarding the content of the meeting.
Tayyar stated that the committee members did not take a photo with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan and expressed that the meeting was recorded on video.
"UNFAIRNESS TO HÜSEYİN YAYMAN"
Şamil Tayyar from the AK Party shared the following: "Imralı Notes. I want to point out that unfairness was done to Hüseyin Yayman beforehand. He is hiding the Imralı visit from a representative of a TV channel that he does not know, who is later understood to be informed by the PKK's media outlet, DEM. He did the right thing; there is also a security aspect to the known visit.
"DEM MEMBER WANTED TO TAKE A MEMORY PHOTO"
Regarding the visit. In the approximately 3-hour meeting, the committee members did not take a memory photo with Öcalan. Although the DEM member wanted to take a memory photo, their enthusiasm was left unfulfilled. Given the intense backlash against the visit, taking a photo and shoving it in the public's face would have been a big mistake. However, the state has recorded the meeting on video.
2 QUESTIONS WERE POSED DURING THE VISIT
All public concerns were directed as questions. Especially 2 topics:
-The PKK has decided to disband and lay down arms, but why is this process not progressing as desired in practice?
-Why is the YPG issue in Syria not being resolved?
"ÖCALAN HAS DRAWN A ROADMAP"
Öcalan states that, in summary, they can overcome all obstacles in the process, including the YPG in Syria. But there is a roadmap he has drawn for this. I won't go into details. Those critical notes from the meeting were conveyed to the top of the state today. They were found promising, but there are still serious obstacles to overcome. In my opinion… 'Cautious optimism' prevails in the AK Party."
