It is claimed that the forest fire that broke out in the center of Karabük yesterday and was extinguished after 20 hours was caused by sparks from a crow that came into contact with a high-voltage line.
The fire that broke out in the Kabaoğlu neighborhood of the Kahyalar village, which is affiliated with the center, was largely brought under control with interventions made over 20 hours. Firefighting teams have started working in the area.
CLAIM THAT A CROW CAUSED THE FOREST FIRE
On the other hand, it was claimed that a spark caused by a crow touching a high-voltage line ignited a grassy area, which then spread to the forested area.
The crow, which was electrocuted after touching the power line, was captured on a mobile phone camera. Nizamettin Taşlı, one of the neighborhood residents, stated that they tried to intervene as soon as the fire broke out, saying, "The crow touched the wires and the fire started from under the pole."
