ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAID 'WE EXPELLED HIM', GÜRSEL TEKİN RESPONDED: I DO NOT ACCEPT

After the developments, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called an extraordinary meeting of his party's Central Executive Board (MYK) and announced in his first statement regarding the issue that they expelled Tekin from the party. Özel said, "We submitted it to the High Disciplinary Board and expelled him from the party. It could be Gürsel Tekin or another name."

In response to Özel's statements, Tekin said, "I do not accept this decision. You are shouting about the AK Party judiciary, you are in a worse situation. You cannot expel me without asking me, without taking my statement, without allowing me to defend myself. You cannot submit me to the disciplinary board."

CHP CALLED GÜRSEL TEKİN TO DEFEND HIMSELF

Following his reaction to the expulsion decision, CHP called Gürsel Tekin to defend himself. Tekin is required to apply to the party to make his defense within 15 days.

On the other hand, CHP, which called Gürsel Tekin to defend himself, also appealed the "temporary removal from office" decision of the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance regarding CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik and the administration.

MINISTER TUNÇ SAID "THE APPEAL PATH IS OPEN"

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç also stated in his remarks regarding the issue that the path to appeal the cancellation decision is open, saying, "The interim decision given by the court is a precautionary measure aimed at preventing irreparable damages that may arise during the trial process and does not constitute a final judgment. The trial process is ongoing."
