The actress Melek Baykal, who went to Bodrum Gölköy for vacation, expressed her outrage at the severe sea pollution she encountered on the beach. In a video she shared on social media, Baykal pointed out that boats were discharging bilge water, which was heavily polluting the bay. She stated, "The sea of Gölköy has turned the color of urine. Shame on you," calling on the authorities to take action.
The beloved actress of Turkish television, Melek Baykal, expressed her reaction to the surrounding scenery she encountered in Bodrum Gölköy, where she went for vacation. In a video shared on her social media account, Baykal called on the authorities to take action due to the color change in the seawater and the intense pollution. Baykal stated that the unconscious anchoring of boats in residential areas and the discharge of bilge water have disrupted the natural structure of the sea, saying, "This is the Gölköy beach of Bodrum… Do you see the state of the sea? It's foamy. Our beautiful cove is in this condition. I have never seen the sea take on such a color in Gölköy. I’m sorry, but it looks like urine."
Pointing out the change in the color of the sea and the foam on the surface, Baykal noted that the prolonged anchoring of boats in the same spot and the discharge of bilge water have caused this pollution, saying, "Unfortunately, a huge number of boats are anchored in this tiny cove. These boats stay in the same place for 10-15 days. They are discharging bilge water! Weren't they supposed to be monitored from space? Were they going to be caught? Look at this disgrace. We can no longer swim."
In her post, Baykal continued her reaction by stating that both the local people and vacationers are suffering from this situation, saying, "Look at this state, for God's sake. The sea is foamy. How can you swim here? You have ruined everything for us. Shame on you."
