SHE SHARED WHAT SHE EXPERIENCED DURING THE FIRE
The moments when 19-year-old Sevgi Selvi, who was in the hotel during the fire, recounted her experiences moved everyone.
Selvi, who said, "78 is a very large number here," added, "The reason the number is not more than 78 is not the hotel managers or employees. What happened should not have been a coincidence. I am 19 years old. I am not considered small, but I am the youngest person who came here. There were also young, bright people who would contribute to our country, who were not referred to as children there. I was staying at that hotel on the night of the fire. I woke up after my friend knocked on the door, but there was too much smoke. When we opened the door, our friend was about to faint. When I woke up, it was hard to breathe and it was very dark. That was my first chance. I always go to that hotel and I know it very well. The alarm never went off. There was no sprinkler system or anything," she stated.

Ayşe Ekici, a complainant and relative of Süleyman, his wife Seden Nurgül, and their children Ela and Buse Dayı, said, "I lost my four children. My children went for 3 days. They stayed for one day, they burned on the second day, they were supposed to come back on the third day. The next day, we couldn't find our children for 20 hours. While we were going with their father, my son called, 'Mom, we found my sister in Ankara,' he said. They asked for DNA, they put them in a bag, even a shroud was not possible, they buried my children in a coffin. We go to bed crying and wake up crying. I haven't left the house for 6 months, they have been having fun. There is no humanity like this. I will pursue this case to the end," she stated.
