Seventy-four-year-old Alzheimer patient Cumhur Özdamar, who went missing six days ago in the Gömeç district of Balıkesir, was found dead in a creek bed. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Seventy-four-year-old Alzheimer patient Cumhur Özdamar, who was reported missing in the Gömeç district of Balıkesir, was found dead in a creek bed after 6 days. According to the information obtained, it was noted that Cumhur Özdamar, who was known to be an Alzheimer patient, had previously left home from time to time and was found shortly thereafter. However, this time, after he left home, search efforts were initiated as there had been no news of him for 6 days.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED REGARDING THE INCIDENT
In addition to AFAD and the police, the İHAKUT team also supported the efforts with a drone from the air. Aerial scanning was conducted in the area by İHAKUT using a drone. As a result of the teams' efforts, Özdamar's lifeless body was discovered in a creek bed near the village of Hacıoğlu, connected to Gömeç. After examinations conducted by the teams that arrived at the scene, Cumhur Özdamar's body was taken to the morgue to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
