The former president of MKE Ankaragücü Club, Faruk Koca, made statements ahead of the extraordinary general assembly to be held on May 24. Faruk Koca stated that the club's debt is 20 million dollars.

The former president of MKE Ankaragücü Club, Faruk Koca, stated that candidates for the presidency must emerge for the 115-year-old community and that he would not demand his personal receivables until the team is promoted to the Süper Lig. Faruk Koca announced the club's financial situation to news agencies alongside MKE Ankaragücü Club President İsmail Mert Fırat before the extraordinary general assembly to be held on May 24. He emphasized that they would support anyone who wants to be a presidential candidate and genuinely serve the club.

Koca highlighted that the current president, İsmail Mert Fırat, who announced he would not run in the elections, would not demand the debts owed to them from the elected management for a long time, stating, "Faruk Koca and İsmail Mert Fırat will never demand the money they have given to the club until Ankaragücü is promoted to the Süper Lig. The only condition is that those who want to be presidential candidates must convince the general assembly to put 500 million lira into the club's treasury. During my tenure as a manager and later as president under Fatih Mert's presidency at Ankaragücü, I started my term by taking on the 40 million euro debt left by previous administrations. Whoever presents this to the general assembly, we will stand behind our word and will not demand a single kuruş of our receivables until the team is promoted to the Süper Lig." The current president of the yellow-blue club, İsmail Mert Fırat, also stated that he made this promise.

''THE CLUB'S DEBT IS 20 MILLION DOLLARS''

Faruk Koca, while explaining the club's debt aside from his own receivables, said the following:

"There is a debt of 91 million lira concerning the current transfer ban. The players and staff are also owed 270 million lira. Aside from İsmail Mert Fırat's and my receivables, the club's current debt, including the transfer ban and player receivables, is 20 million dollars. When I first started my presidency, there was a debt of 33 million 500 thousand euros + 41 million euros with a 22% withholding tax in 39 transfer ban files. Currently, the debt is 20 million dollars. The club has no other debts; no one should pay attention to other news."

''860 MILLION LIRA GIVEN IN 11 MONTHS''

Faruk Koca emphasized that İsmail Mert Fırat provided a significant influx of money to the club through his own means in the 11 months following the election held in June last year.

Koca stated that the club was financially sustained with the contributions of Fırat and some managers, saying, "İsmail Mert Fırat has given 860 million lira to the club in the last 11 months, 80% of which is from his own pocket. Moreover, he provided this money to the club without receiving support from any institution. The annual expenses of a club are close to 1 billion lira." he concluded his remarks.
