In Ankara, Nazif Demirci, who survived a severe injury to his leg by holding his breath and pretending to be dead during an armed attack by robbers in a container that resulted in the death of his mother, Kezban Demirci, underwent 5 surgeries and, after 6 months of treatment, got back on his feet with crutches and returned to school.
Saim Demirci (44), who lives in the Ilgın district of Konya and works in agriculture, rented a field in the Bala district of Ankara last year and planted corn and wheat. Living in a container set up in the field with his family, Saim Demirci went to irrigate the field with his daughter Gönül (18) on July 9, leaving his wife Kezban and son Nazif behind. After a while, three masked individuals entered the container and opened fire on Kezban and Nazif Demirci with a shotgun. While Kezban Demirci lost her life, her son Nazif, who was shot in the right leg, was seriously injured. Nazif Demirci held his breath and pretended to be dead, waiting for the attackers to leave the container. The suspects, who were searching for gold in the container, left when they couldn't find anything.
4 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
As a result of the work of the gendarmerie teams, it was determined that one of the suspects was İsmail Özdil, the brother of Hamza Özdil, the son-in-law of the Demirci couple. It was found that İsmail Özdil, who visited the Demirci family in the container shortly before the incident and learned that the family had a certain amount of gold, waited in ambush for 3 days with his friends Kadir Ramis and his brother Hasan Karakaş, and carried out the attack when the father left the house. It was also determined that the family's son-in-law Hamza Özdil was aware of the incident and approved the robbery. Four suspects who were detained after the incident were arrested.
"NAZIF WITHDREW AFTER THE ATTACK"
Nazif Demirci, who was shot in the right leg, underwent 5 surgeries after the incident. After 6 months of treatment, Demirci got back on his feet with crutches and returned to school. Nazif Demirci's sister and the wife of one of the suspects, Hamza Özdil, Şerife Özdil, stated that Nazif experienced psychological problems after the incident, saying, "My brother had 5 surgeries after the incident, and 4 of these surgeries were very risky. He is currently receiving physical therapy. We go to the hospital every day. After the surgeries, my brother slowly started to get back on his feet with crutches. He started school a week before the semester break. After what happened, he became a withdrawn child. Nazif can tell us what happened that day, but he can't cry, he can't express himself as well as he used to."
"I HAVE NO PERSONAL SAFETY"
Özdil, who stated that he lost his mother and that his wife was arrested in connection with the murder, expressed that he filed for divorce, taking his children aged 2 and 5 with him. Özdil said, "My older child is already afraid of his father. I filed for divorce, but the first hearing was postponed. I hope to get divorced in the next hearing. My wife is confident, she still has hope of getting out. I don't want any of them to get out. We are actually more angry at my wife because she is the instigator. But Hasan, İsmail, and Kadir are all guilty in our eyes. We want them to receive the heaviest penalties. At this point, I have no personal safety either; they can harm me and my children. Femicide cases also arise with divorce requests. What wouldn't they do to me after what they did to my mother and brother?"
