Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman was detained on suspicion of obstructing an investigation into the leak of classified documents to foreign media. It was reported that a search was conducted at Braverman's home. Meanwhile, Eli Feldstein, Netanyahu's spokesperson who was previously arrested in connection with the investigation, will also provide a statement again.

It was announced that Tzachi Braverman, Chief of Staff to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was detained on suspicion of "obstructing" an investigation into the leak of sensitive confidential documents to foreign media.

SEARCH CONDUCTED AT HIS HOME

According to a report by Israeli state television KAN, Braverman was detained by the "Lahav 433 unit" for questioning on suspicion of obstructing the investigation. Channel 12 television reported that the police conducted a search at Braverman's home before his detention, and that the investigation is being carried out under allegations of "obstruction of justice and abuse of trust."

"LAHAV 433" IS HANDLING THE CASE

Lahav 433 is known as an Israeli police unit specialized in serious crimes and corruption cases, and is often referred to as the "Israeli FBI" in the public eye.

NETANYAHU'S FORMER SPOKESPERSON TO GIVE TESTIMONY AGAIN

Former Netanyahu spokesperson Eli Feldstein, who was previously arrested in connection with the investigation, has also been called to give testimony again. According to Channel 12's report, a confrontation between Braverman and Feldstein is expected.

In an interview with KAN on December 24, Feldstein claimed that Braverman had summoned him to a secret meeting late at night during the Gaza attacks and offered him a deal to obstruct a security investigation against the Prime Minister's Office.

Braverman is known as a central and influential figure responsible for managing sensitive files in Netanyahu's office.

According to the investigation file, Feldstein attempted to leak a confidential document to the German newspaper Bild in order to influence public opinion against the protests held during the negotiations for a prisoner exchange in the Gaza Strip in 2024. Feldstein argued that the protests harmed the negotiations and strengthened Hamas.
