New footage has emerged regarding the life of Ümit İmrağ, who died from blood loss after being stabbed in the leg following an argument with his aunt İsmihan K. in Beyoğlu. The footage shows İmrağ entering the house with a key, after which İsmihan K. arrives, and a fight breaks out four minutes later. In the footage, the arrested İsmihan K. can be heard shouting, "What are you doing? You cut yourself."
A brutal incident occurred in the Kulaksız neighborhood of Beyoğlu, Istanbul, on Saturday, January 17, around 03:15. According to the information obtained, İsmihan K. (31), who lost her husband 6 months ago, started living with her daughter. On the day of the incident, around 02:40, Ümit İmrağ (21) entered the house while İsmihan K. was not at home. About 10 minutes after İmrağ entered, İsmihan K. returned home. For an unknown reason, a dispute broke out between İmrağ and İsmihan K. During the altercation, Ümit İmrağ was stabbed in the leg.
STABBED IN THE LEG, DIED FROM BLOOD LOSS
Following the incident, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon İsmihan K.'s report. Ümit İmrağ, who received first aid at the scene, could not be saved despite all interventions at Okmeydanı Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital. It was learned that Ümit İmrağ died due to a severed artery and severe blood loss from the stabbing. İmrağ's funeral was held on Sunday, January 18, after the afternoon prayer at Kasımpaşa Mosque and he was buried at Kulaksız Cemetery.
SCREAMED "WHAT DID YOU DO, ÜMİT"
After the incident, the Beyoğlu Public Order Bureau teams initiated an investigation and detained İsmihan K., who had argued with İmrağ. The woman stated in her testimony that there was a dispute with İmrağ, who forcibly entered her home, and that İmrağ had injured himself with a bread knife and called for help. İsmihan K.'s neighbor, Öznur S., stated in her testimony that she heard screams from the opposite apartment saying, "What did you do, Ümit."
STABBING IN THE BACK OF THE LEG FOUND SUSPICIOUS
Police teams determined that no one else had entered the house during their investigation. İsmihan K., whose statement was taken at the police station, was released by the prosecutor's decision. Following the investigation conducted by the Beyoğlu Public Order Bureau and the Kulaksız Police Station, it was found that Ümit İmrağ was stabbed in the back of his right leg, making his death suspicious. Consequently, İsmihan K. was detained again by the prosecutor's decision.
SHARING "I WILL CUT ALL OF YOU"
İsmihan K., who was taken into custody and faced legal action, was sent to court. İsmihan K., who was brought before the court, was arrested and sent to prison for the crime of 'intentional murder.' On the other hand, it was learned that the deceased Ümit İmrağ had 17 records for similar crimes such as 'theft' and 'drug use,' while his aunt İsmihan K. had 4 records for 'intentional injury.' It was seen that İsmihan K. shared a photo on a social media platform with the note, "I will cut all of you, I won't remember anything by morning, that much."
FOOTAGE OF THE INCIDENT EMERGED
Security camera footage related to the incident has emerged. In the footage, at around 02:38 on the day of the incident, Ümit İmrağ is seen arriving in front of the apartment with a bag, unlocking the door with a key, and entering. At around 02:51, İsmihan K. is seen coming up to the floor of the apartment while chatting with her neighbor.
TERRIFYING END IN 4 MINUTES
The woman then knocks on the door and enters after İmrağ opens it. About 4 minutes after entering, a dispute breaks out between İmrağ and İsmihan K. İsmihan K. can be heard shouting phrases like "What are you doing?" and "What did you do, you cut yourself." Ümit İmrağ can be heard shouting as objects fall to the ground.
"SON, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?"
About 13 minutes after the incident, İmrağ's twin brother, Emirhan İmrağ, arrives at the house. Entering, Emirhan İmrağ calls out to his brother, "Ümit." Emirhan İmrağ argues with İsmihan K. İsmihan K. responds, "Son, what are we going to do? He stabbed him from behind." About 20 minutes later, health teams arrive at the apartment, and Ümit İmrağ is carried out on a stretcher.
HIS WIFE DIED FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK
On the other hand, it was revealed that İsmihan K.'s husband, Doğukan K., whom she married in December 2024, passed away about 6 months ago. It was learned that Doğukan K., who was trying to escape from a General Information Check (GBT) due to a confirmed prison sentence while wandering in Fatih, died after being electrocuted in a transformer. It was also learned that Doğukan K. was known as an older brother in the neighborhood, Ümit İmrağ saw him as a spiritual brother, and İsmihan K. referred to him as "aunt."
"HE WAS COMING IN AND OUT OF THE GIRL'S HOUSE"
Ebru Erkartal, who spoke about the incident, said, "It happened at 2 o'clock. We only heard the girl scream. When the boy entered the house, they immediately fought inside. His leg was cut off from here. They say he died. We don't know those people at all. The girl was screaming, 'Ümit, why did you do it?' She was screaming. We got up after hearing the sounds. We heard that the boy was already dead. This incident happened after the fight, but they weren't normally living together. Apparently, the boy was going in and out of their house. They must have loved each other, according to what we heard," she said.
"WE WERE AFRAID TO GO DOWN"
A female resident of the building said, "We really heard it, but we were afraid to go down."
Ambulances arrived, the police arrived. I swear they screamed that his foot was bleeding. To call the police. They stabbed the child in the foot. They just got here. They didn't stay long. His wife had already died," he said.
