As part of the investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the 'C31K' platform on social communication services Telegram and Discord, 30 suspects were apprehended in a simultaneous operation conducted in 14 provinces centered around Ankara.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has apprehended 30 of the 40 suspects who were identified as making inappropriate posts on social media applications and against whom detention orders were issued.
THEY ARE ORGANIZING ON TELEGRAM AND DISCORD
On the 'C31K' platform within social communication services named Telegram and Discord, it was determined that there were posts containing sexual exploitation and threats directed primarily at children under the age of 18; images of animal torture, posts insulting national and religious values, mocking statements aimed at the families of those who lost their lives in natural disasters such as earthquakes and fires, as well as harassment and threatening posts targeting victim families in some events that are currently in the public spotlight, and posts containing insults directed at the families and relatives of martyrs. Following this, an investigation was initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crimes of 'violating the cybersecurity law numbered 7545', 'accessing information systems, disrupting systems, destroying and altering data', 'recording personal data, unlawfully providing or obtaining personal data', 'praising the crime and the criminal', and 'propagating terrorist organizations and organized crime groups'.
13 OF THE 30 PEOPLE ARE JUVENILE OFFENDERS
As a result of technical analyses and examinations related to the matter, 40 suspects were identified from 84 social media accounts, including 17 juvenile offenders. It was determined that 2 of these suspects were located abroad, while a simultaneous operation was conducted in 14 provinces centered in Ankara against the 38 identified suspects under the coordination of the Cyber Crime Department of the Ankara Police Department. A total of 30 people were apprehended, including 13 juvenile offenders.
The investigation is ongoing.
