An incident like a movie occurred on the Istanbul-Izmir Highway. An armored vehicle carrying gold taken from a jeweler crashed in the Karacabey area of Bursa. Three people in the vehicle were injured, while 11 kilograms of gold went missing.
While transporting gold in the Karacabey district of Bursa, an armored vehicle lost control after a tire burst on the Istanbul-İzmir Highway.
IT WAS ABLE TO STOP AFTER ROLLING 4 TIMES
The vehicle, which was thrown to the roadside, was able to stop after rolling approximately 4 times. In the accident, the driver E.Ö. (21) and passengers R.T. (30) and V.T. (48) were slightly injured. Upon notification, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulances after their first interventions. It was learned that the injured did not have life-threatening injuries.
11 KILOS OF GOLD MISSING
After the accident, an inspection of the armored vehicle revealed that 11 kilos of gold being transported were missing. In response, gendarmerie teams launched a large-scale operation in the area. While searches were conducted with detectors along the roadside and in the surrounding area, no evidence related to the missing gold was found.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED
It was learned that company officials shared the serial numbers of the missing gold and requested assistance from jewelers. A comprehensive investigation has been initiated by the gendarmerie teams regarding the incident.
