An elderly woman begging in Esenyurt was found to have 67 quarter gold coins worth 625,000 lira and a large amount of cash. The gold and money were recorded, and an administrative fine was imposed.
The teams of the Esenyurt Municipality's Zoning Directorate seized 67 quarter gold coins and a large amount of money from an elderly woman who was begging.
POLICE AND ZONING DIRECTORATE ON THE TRAIL
According to a statement from the municipality, the zoning teams are continuing their inspections targeting beggars in cooperation with the police. As part of these efforts, the elderly woman begging in front of Esenyurt State Hospital was put under surveillance by the zoning teams due to her suspicious behavior.
A FORTUNE WAS FOUND
After the surveillance, the woman was taken into custody by the police and brought to the station. During a search conducted there, 67 quarter gold coins and a large amount of money were found on her. While the gold and money were recorded, the woman was subjected to an administrative fine.
INSPECTIONS WILL CONTINUE
In a statement, Esenyurt Deputy Mayor Can Aksoy noted that organized begging activities that are against the law allow some individuals to gain unfair profits in large amounts. Aksoy stated that inspections will continue to increase in order to prevent similar incidents in the district and emphasized that citizens should be cautious against those who exploit spiritual sentiments.
