The African Football Confederation (CAF) imposed certain sanctions on Senegal and Morocco due to the events that occurred during the final of the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).

PENALTIES FOR THE INCIDENT-FILLED FINAL

In a statement from the CAF Disciplinary Committee, it was announced that the Senegal Football Federation, Senegal National Team Head Coach Pape Bouna Thiaw, Senegalese players Iliman Cheikh Baroy Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr, the Moroccan Football Federation, and Moroccan players Ismael Saibari and Achraf Hakimi were penalized due to disciplinary violations in the final.

The Senegal Football Federation was fined a total of 615,000 dollars due to the inappropriate behavior of fans, five players receiving yellow cards, and the team's inappropriate conduct, while the Moroccan Football Federation was fined a total of 315,000 dollars due to the inappropriate behavior of ball boys, the use of lasers by fans, national team players entering the VAR review area and obstructing the referee's work, and the inappropriate behavior of the technical staff.
