IRAN WILL CONDUCT JOINT MILITARY EXERCISES WITH RUSSIA AND CHINA
It has been reported that Iran will conduct military exercises with China and Russia in the Oman Sea and the Indian Ocean within a few days. An unnamed Iranian official speaking to Al Jazeera stated that the Iranian navy will begin exercises with China and Russia in the Oman Sea and the Indian Ocean in a few days.
IRAN HAS ADDED 100 DRONES TO ITS INVENTORY
Meanwhile, according to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, 100 "strategic unmanned aerial vehicles" developed by military experts based on new threats and experiences gained from the 12-day war with Israel have been delivered to the army's combat forces.
Iranian Ground Forces Commander Major General Amir Hatami stated that the addition of drones designed for attack, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare classes to the army's inventory aims to enhance rapid response and counter-capacity against potential threats.
THE US WILL ALSO CONDUCT MILITARY EXERCISES
As tensions rise in the region, the US, which is increasing its military buildup in the Middle East, has announced that it will conduct an exercise in the coming days. In a statement by the US Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT), it was stated that "AFCENT will conduct a preparation exercise lasting several days to demonstrate its capabilities to deploy, mobilize, and ensure operational sustainability of combat air power across the area of responsibility of the US Central Command (CENTCOM)."
It was expressed that the exercise was conducted to increase the capacity for asset and personnel distribution, strengthen regional partnerships, and prepare for flexible response practices across CENTCOM. This exercise was announced a day after CENTCOM declared that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and its accompanying warships had reached the Middle East.
TRUMP: A MASSIVE FLEET IS HEADING TOWARDS IRAN
US President Donald Trump stated in a social media post yesterday that "a massive fleet is heading towards Iran," calling on the Tehran administration to make a deal, warning that otherwise "a worse attack will occur."
Trump indicated that the fleet in question is larger than the one sent to Venezuela, led by the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, stating, "(The fleet) is ready, willing, and capable of carrying out its mission quickly and violently if necessary, just like in Venezuela."
PROTESTS IN IRAN
Protests that began on December 28, 2025, led by merchants in the Grand Bazaar of Tehran due to the rapid devaluation of the local currency against foreign currencies and the deepening economic troubles spread across the country. During the intensified protests in the capital Tehran on January 8, the government blocked internet access due to the ensuing incidents.
The Iranian Foundation for Martyrs and Veterans announced in a statement on January 21, based on the Forensic Medicine Institution, that 3,117 people, including security forces and civilians, lost their lives during the protests. It was stated that 2,427 of these individuals were security forces and civilian citizens killed by "armed terrorist groups," while no information was provided about 690 others.
