In the case of the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, Nevzat Bahtiyar will appear before the judge again on April 6, following the decision that was overturned by the 1st Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation.

19 days after being killed in Diyarbakır, the date has been set for Nevzat Bahtiyar, who has been ordered to be retried in the case of 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found.

THE SUPREME COURT HAD OVERTURNED THE SENTENCE

In the case regarding the death of 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found 19 days after being killed in Diyarbakır, the 1st Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court stated that Nevzat Bahtiyar's actions should be evaluated within the scope of aiding qualified intentional murder, and unanimously overturned the sentence given.

THE FIRST HEARING IS ON APRIL 6

Following the overturning of the decision, a procedural record was prepared by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court. Accordingly, it has been learned that Nevzat Bahtiyar's retrial will begin on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 09:00 at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court.

UNCLE, MOTHER, AND BROTHER'S SENTENCES HAVE BEEN UPHELD

The 1st Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court upheld the aggravated life sentences given to Salim Güran, Yüksel Güran, and Enes Güran in the case of Narin Güran's murder, while stating that the actions of the defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar should be evaluated within the scope of aiding qualified intentional murder, and unanimously overturned the sentence given.
