The fact that nothing happened to the mosque in the village of Kaşıkçı, which was turned to ashes in the forest fires in Bilecik, was surprising. The interior of the mosque, with its open pages of the Quran on the lectern and its carpet, remained completely intact.
A fire that jumped from Sakarya to Bilecik caused significant damage in the village of Kaşıkçı, located in the Osmaneli district. While many houses were reduced to ashes in the village reached by the flames, dozens of animals perished in the fire. The villagers whose homes were burned were relocated to container houses set up by AFAD near the village.
THE MOSQUE SURPRISES THOSE WHO SEE IT
The interior of the village mosque, which was also damaged like other structures, surprised those who saw it. It was astonishing that the carpets inside the mosque, which had its exterior and domes burned and turned to ash, remained intact. The inside of the mosque, which was locked, was filmed through the glass. It was surprising that nothing was damaged, from the open pages of the Quran on the lectern to the chandelier.
