In the corridors, while discussions are ongoing about increasing the 4,000 TL bonus paid to retirees before Ramadan and Eid al-Adha by 25% to 5,000 TL, it is expected that the work prepared by two ministries will be presented to President Erdoğan.
With a short time left until the month of Ramadan, retirees' eyes are turned to the holiday bonuses. It is stated that there is a discussion in the corridors about increasing the current holiday bonus for retirees, which is paid as 4,000 TL, to 5,000 TL with a 25% increase. If this increase is implemented, retirees will receive a bonus of 5,000 TL before Ramadan and Eid al-Adha.
TWO MINISTRIES WILL WORK TOGETHER
It is expected that the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance will prepare a joint impact analysis and draft work for the possible increase in the holiday bonus. It is reported that the prepared regulation will be presented to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
LEGAL REGULATION IS REQUIRED
A legal regulation is necessary to increase the holiday bonus. If a final decision is made, it is anticipated that the regulation will be presented to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey within the month of Ramadan, and after it becomes law, the new bonus amount will be clarified.
2026 RAMADAN HOLIDAY BONUS PAYMENT CALENDAR
The month of Ramadan in 2026 will start on February 19, and Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20.
According to past practices, it is expected that the Ramadan holiday bonuses will be deposited into retirees' accounts between March 9-14.
Estimated payment days:
- BAĞ-KUR retirees (salary day 25-28): March 9, Monday
- Retirement Fund retirees: March 10, Tuesday
- SSK retirees:
- Those with salary days 17-19: March 11, Wednesday
- Those with salary days 20-22: March 12, Thursday
- Those with salary days 23-26: March 13, Friday
WHEN WILL THE EID AL-ADHA BONUS BE DEPOSITED?
The 2026 Eid al-Adha will start with a half-day eve on Tuesday, May 26, and will last for four days between May 27-30. It is anticipated that the Eid al-Adha bonuses will be deposited into accounts between May 18-23.
