On May 21, 2025, in the Yamaçtepe neighborhood, Atilla Ayıntaplı entered the hospital where his ex-wife Eser Karaca worked, carrying a shotgun hidden in a bag. A dispute broke out between Karaca and Ayıntaplı for an undetermined reason, during which Karaca's colleague Ç.A. entered the room. Atilla Ayıntaplı asked Ç.A. to leave. After receiving a negative response, Ayıntaplı said, "I will kill you both," and pulled out his weapon from the bag.
HE KILLED ON THE DAY THE 4TH RESTRAINING ORDER WAS ISSUED Seeing the gun, Eser Karaca and Ç.A. began to flee the room, while Ayıntaplı chased after the women with the shotgun. After shooting Eser Karaca three times on the stairs, Ayıntaplı fled. Despite the intervention of the doctors at the hospital where she worked, the severely injured woman could not be saved. Ayıntaplı was quickly caught by the police and was arrested and sent to prison. It was revealed that Eser Karaca had previously obtained three restraining orders against her ex-husband Atilla Ayıntaplı, and on the day of the incident, a fourth restraining order had been issued, but it was not served to her before the murder was committed.
As a result of the investigation launched regarding the incident, the prosecution prepared an indictment against Atilla Ayıntaplı for 'intentional murder of his ex-wife' with aggravated life imprisonment, and for threatening hospital employee Ç.A. with a firearm, seeking up to 7 years in prison. The indictment was accepted by the Kahramanmaraş 5th Heavy Criminal Court and turned into a case.
MURDER FOOTAGE EMERGED While Atilla Ayıntaplı awaited the day he would appear before the judge in prison, security camera footage of the moment of the murder also emerged. The footage included in the case file shows Atilla Ayıntaplı entering his ex-wife's room in the hospital with a bag containing a shotgun. The footage continues with Eser Karaca and her friend Ç.A. running out of the room and Ayıntaplı chasing after them. As Ç.A. and Eser Karaca run out of the room, Ayıntaplı follows them with the shotgun he pulled out of the bag. The footage shows Ayıntaplı shooting three times at his ex-wife, who was signaling him to stop, while witnesses to the incident are seen fleeing in fear and panic.
Atilla Ayıntaplı, who is facing aggravated life imprisonment and up to 7 years in prison, will appear before the judge in the coming days.
