The 45th Civil Court of Istanbul requested the suspension of the extraordinary congress of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, held today, on the grounds that it was contrary to the court's decision, in a letter addressed to the Istanbul Governorship and the Sarıyer District Election Board.
The court's decision stated, "This decision, given according to the Law on Civil Courts No. 6100, is not final; however, it is a precautionary measure that is enforced at the moment it is issued. The appellate process regarding the relevant interim decision has not yet begun in the ongoing litigation process in our court, and the decision made by our court is current and valid. The holding of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress elections on September 24, without the precautionary measure issued by our court being lifted or changed by the Istanbul Regional Court of Appeal, is contrary to our court's decision, and the activities must be suspended."
THE COMMITTEE WENT TO THE CONGRESS
One hour after the congress began, a committee arrived at the venue to suspend the congress following the court's request.
