The footage of a mother and her two children stealing red peppers from the back of a truck stopped at a red light in Adana has divided viewers. Some argue that the mother and her children are in a difficult financial situation and should not be accused of "theft," while others state that what they did is outright theft.

According to reports, in Karataş Boulevard located in the Yüreğir district of Adana; a mother and her two children noticed a truck loaded with red peppers stopped at a red light, lifted the tarp, and stole red peppers. Later, the mother and her children left the area. The incident was recorded by the driver of another vehicle using a mobile phone camera. The footage divided opinions among viewers.

SOME SAID "THEY HAVE NEEDS"

Some users who watched the footage argued that the mother and children's financial situation was poor based on their clothing, and therefore, it was an exaggeration to call what they did "theft." Users who thought this way made the following comments:

  • Why are you exposing them? It's as if they stole millions of dollars, but they only took 2 kilos of vegetables. The interesting part is that those people are in need of 2 kilos.
  • They have taken their right.
  • Unless you come to the brink of hunger with your 3 children, don't foam at the mouth in the comments calling it theft. You can easily see how bad their situation is from their clothing and appearance. The reason people fall into this situation for a morsel is society's distance from charity.
  • Those who put them in this situation should be ashamed; 90% of the country is under hunger and poverty, and retirees are feeding on market leftovers.

SOME SAID "IT'S PLAIN THEFT"

Some users stated that what was done was plain theft and that no form of theft should be accepted. Users who thought this way made the following comments:

  • It's plain theft. You are normalizing it for the children. Then don't expect anything good from this generation.
  • I cannot tolerate any form of theft.
  • Everyone steals what they can afford.
  • Even if we want to think they are in need, no form of theft is acceptable.
  • If you asked, the man might give it to you. You are showing these as normal things to the children; they will continue this throughout their lives!
  • What will happen to these children when they grow up, and what profession will they have is already clear.
