THE MOST VILLAGES IN SIVAS, THE LEAST IN YALOVA
According to data compiled from the Ministry of Interior, the most villages are found in Sivas with 1,231. Kastamonu follows with 1,054 villages. The province with the least number of villages is Yalova with 43 villages, followed by Niğde with 131 villages.
THE LONGEST AND SHORTEST NAMED VILLAGES
When the village names in Turkey are ranked by length, "Halilefendi Çiftliğiköyü" in the central district of Uşak stands out with 23 letters as the longest name, while the village "Koşuburnutürkmenleri" in the Bayramiç district of Çanakkale comes in second with 20 letters.
Among the shortest names are Dut in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, Ece in the Bozüyük district of Bilecik, Oya in the Şirvan district of Siirt, Geç in the Hanak district of Ardahan, Efe in the Şuhut district of Afyonkarahisar, and Bük in the Devrek district of Zonguldak.

BEING DONE WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR
According to the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, the establishment of a new village or the relocation of an existing one is done with the approval of the Ministry of Interior, after obtaining the opinions of the relevant ministries. The same procedure is applied for connecting villages within the same district from one neighborhood to another, changing village names, merging and separating villages, and separating a neighborhood or district from that village and merging it with another village.
