The Supreme Election Council made some changes to the number of parliamentary seats for provinces based on the 2024 population data. The number of parliamentary seats for Ankara, Muğla, and Şanlıurfa increased by one each, while the numbers for Bayburt, Erzurum, and Yozgat decreased by one each. According to the new data, Ankara will have 37, Istanbul will have 96, and Izmir will have 28 parliamentary seats.
In the decision published in the Official Gazette by the Supreme Election Council (YSK), it was reminded that the election districts and the number of members of parliament to be elected from each election district will be announced within a maximum of 6 months after the announcement of the results of the general population census, as stipulated in Articles 4 and 5 of the Law on Parliamentary Elections No. 2839.
ISTANBUL WILL ELECT 96 MEMBERS
The decision stated that the latest population information was announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute on December 31, 2024, and included the distribution of 600 members of parliament according to provinces and election districts. Accordingly, Ankara will elect 37, Istanbul 96, and Izmir 28 members of parliament.
HERE ARE THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS TO BE ELECTED BY PROVINCES
Compared to the previous term, the number of members of parliament from Ankara, Muğla, and Şanlıurfa increased by 1 each, while the number of members from Erzurum, Yozgat, and Bayburt decreased by 1 each.

Additionally, Ankara will be divided into 3, Bursa into 2, Istanbul into 3, and Izmir into 2 election districts.
