Documents unsealed in the Jeffrey Epstein case have revealed an unexpected lobbying network established along the Tel Aviv-Washington line before the 2016 U.S. Presidential election. Newly emerged emails indicate that former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak leveraged Epstein's influence to reach out to then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and persuade him to give an interview to the Israeli media.
Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while facing charges of child abuse and establishing a prostitution ring, is back in the spotlight with a remarkable correspondence at the intersection of Israeli and U.S. politics. Newly released documents reveal a behind-the-scenes communication traffic along the Trump–Israel media–Epstein line.
FROM BARAK TO EPSTEIN: MEDIA MEDIATION FOR TRUMP
Among the released documents is an email sent by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to Epstein in 2016. The correspondence shows that Barak sought Epstein's help to convince then-presidential candidate Donald Trump to give an interview to the Israeli media.
"THEY ARE READY TO SEND A BLONDE LADY"
In his email, Barak recalled that Israeli television Channel 2 had arranged an interview with Hillary Clinton and asked whether Trump would be interested in a similar program on Channel 10.
The following statement in the message particularly drew attention: "The vast majority of Israelis, and especially U.S. citizens in Israel, will watch this interview. They are ready to send leading hosts from the U.S., a talented and positive (blonde) lady."
DOCUMENTS RELEASED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
The email in question emerged after U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that more than 3 million new files related to the Epstein investigation had been shared with the public. The documents have led to renewed discussions not only about Epstein's individual crimes but also about his connections with high-level political and media circles.
THE INITIATIVE WAS NOT IMPLEMENTED
Israeli media reported that the correspondence took place during the 2016 Clinton–Trump election race, but this initiative was never realized. According to reports, the "blonde woman" mentioned in the email did not get the opportunity to interview Trump.
CLOSE RELATIONSHIP CONTINUED AFTER CONVICTION
Another notable aspect of the documents is the assessments indicating that the relationship between Barak and Epstein continued even after Epstein's conviction. This raises questions about the extent to which Epstein's ties to political circles were maintained.
