A 25-year-old woman who was stabbed in Malatya died in the hospital where she was taken. Her husband, who claimed that he found his wife fallen on the knife in the kitchen when he came home, has been taken into custody.
A suspicious death incident occurred in the Akçadağ district of Malatya. Upon receiving a report that Y.K. found his wife Emine Kolay (25) injured with a knife in the kitchen when he returned home last night, health and police teams were dispatched to the address.
WOMAN INJURED WITH A KNIFE HAS DIED
Emine Kolay, who received first aid from the health teams at the scene, was taken to Malatya Training and Research Hospital by ambulance. Despite all the interventions by doctors, Kolay, who was treated in the intensive care unit, lost her life. Kolay's lifeless body was taken to the Malatya Forensic Medicine Institution morgue for an autopsy.
HUSBAND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
After the incident, gendarmerie teams took Kolay's husband Y.K. into custody. In his statement at the police station, Y.K. claimed that he had been married to Kolay for 2 years, that his wife was an epileptic, and that she occasionally fainted, stating that he found her fallen on the knife in the kitchen when he came home. It was reported that Y.K.'s procedures at the gendarmerie were ongoing, and it was learned that the couple had one child.
