The tensions between Eskişehirspor and the finalist candidates Trabzonspor and Göztepe also played a role in this decision.

THEY SENT A LETTER TO TFF

According to HT Sports, the Eskişehir Governorship sent the letter to TFF stating that the final could not be played in the city due to security measures.

THERE IS TENSION AMONG THEM

There is existing tension between Eskişehir's established club Eskişehirspor and the finalist candidates of the Ziraat Turkey Cup. In the tournament where the winner of Trabzonspor and Göztepe will reach the final, Eskişehirspor has problems with both clubs.

It is remembered that the tension, which particularly started in 2011, escalated when Trabzonspor did not sign the 'no debt' document that Eskişehirspor needed to avoid relegation for economic reasons. Past incidents during promotion matches played against another finalist, Göztepe, also created significant problems between the two communities. Considering the events that occurred, the Governorship decided that it would not be appropriate for the final to be played in Eskişehir.
