An Afghan national, who claimed that he was possessed by the devil, was arrested by the court after shooting and killing his brother and sister-in-law.

HE KILLED HIS BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW WITH A GUN

In an incident that occurred last night in an apartment building on Kavşak Street in Yeşil Mahalle, 29-year-old Afghan national Norooz Ahmedi shot and killed his brother Kurban Ali Ahmedi (25) and then his sister-in-law Leeqa Azemi (27) in the head with a gun.

"HE WAS CAUGHT IN A SHORT TIME"

After the incident, the suspect fled in a commercial taxi, and upon receiving reports from citizens who heard gunshots from the house, a large number of police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The Public Order Branch teams, who determined that the fleeing suspect was in the Eskipazar district, quickly apprehended him along with his weapon. The murder suspect, who was taken into custody by the teams, was subjected to a health check at a private hospital in Karabük and then handed over to the Homicide Branch teams for questioning. The individual was arrested and sent to prison after the incident. Five children aged between 2 and 5 who were present in the house during the incident were taken under police protection.

"THEY SENT THE DEVIL TO ME"

After his procedures at the police station, the murder suspect was brought to the courthouse, where he did not answer journalists' questions such as 'Why did you do it?' and 'Are you sorry?'. It was learned that in his statement to the prosecutor, the suspect said he killed his brother and sister-in-law because "They cast a spell on me. They sent the devil to me." After his statement to the prosecutor, the suspect was arrested by the court for the crime of "premeditated murder" and sent to prison.

The driver of the commercial taxi the murder suspect was in, Şafak Çomkalı, stated, "Around 21:30, he called and requested a taxi to the address he mentioned. I went and picked him up. He said we would go to 100. Yıl. We arrived at an address here. I waited in front of the door for about five minutes. Then he came back to the vehicle. He said he would go to the place where he committed the murder, and I took him there and dropped him off. About 15-20 minutes later, he called again. When he got into the car, he said we would go to Eskipazar. About 6-7 kilometers before the district, he asked me to stop on the road. I asked him, 'Why are you getting off here, what are you going to do here?' He said he didn't have much cash on him. I said, 'It's cold, it's winter, you'll pay me later.' I didn't stop and took him to Eskipazar."

Çomkalı, stating that the police called him five minutes after he turned towards Karabük, said he contacted the Eskipazar police and indicated the place where he dropped off the suspect, adding that the suspect was very calm while in the vehicle and that he saw the weapon on his waist when he got out of the car.
