The company whose fuel station license was revoked in Denizli has won a 6-month legal battle. The owners of the company delivered the court decision to the municipality with drums and horns.
The court, which found the company that was sealed after the license of the 34-year-old gas station taken over by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality was not renewed, issued a stay of execution decision twice. The company, which has been fighting for 6 months, made an extraordinary action by delivering the court decision, which resulted in the removal of the seal, to the municipality with drums and horns.
The gas station, which started its operations in 1991 in the Kumavşarı neighborhood of Acıpayam district in Denizli, was taken over by a company based in Antalya on November 1, 2024. The investor company applied to the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality in January to take over the license of the station located on the Denizli-Antalya highway.
THE ISSUE WAS TAKEN TO COURT
The company, which applied with the documents submitted in previous transfer transactions, took the matter to court after the municipality requested new documents despite the regulations stating otherwise and did not fulfill the request.
The Denizli 2nd Administrative Court, which evaluated the company's request for the issuance of a Workplace Opening and Operating License with legally sufficient documents, ruled for a stay of execution regarding the practice of not granting the license. The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, which appealed the decision at the İzmir Regional Administrative Court's 7th Administrative Case Department, was obliged to issue the license after the decision became final.
LICENSE REQUESTED AGAIN, STATION SEALED
Relieved by the completion of the license procedures, the company was shocked to see the metropolitan police at the workplace again on April 21, 2025. The police informed the business that it had a 15-day period to renew its license with documents that were stated not to be required by the regulations.
Upon this, the company, which applied again to the Denizli 2nd Administrative Court, found itself in a difficult situation when the station was sealed on May 7, 2025, before a decision was announced. The court, which evaluated the company's application, issued a second stay of execution decision, ruling that the business should continue its activities.
DELIVERED THE DECISION WITH DRUMS AND HORNS
The company, which made an investment decision to contribute to the economy of Denizli but could not provide proper service due to the experiences in the past 6 months, made an extraordinary action after the second stay of execution decision given by the Denizli 2nd Administrative Court. The company's investment consultant, Engin Öz, took the court's decision regarding the removal of the seal to the municipality together with musicians.
Amid the curious gazes of those around, the company representatives, accompanied by drums, horns, and violins, delivered the decision to the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Zoning Department to protest the events that occurred during the process. After the document delivery with drums and horns, the police teams came to the station and removed the seal.
