During the management of Sport Republic under the presidency of Rasmus Ankersen, Göztepe made 75 transfers, paying less than 1.8 million Euros for 74 of them, with the only exception being the Brazilian Romulo, who was acquired for 2.5 million Euros.
Göztepe, which stands out with its successful performance in the Trendyol Super League, is progressing steadily towards its European goal. In the 18 weeks of the league so far, the yellow-red team has achieved 10 victories, 5 draws, and 3 losses, placing them 4th with a total of 35 points.
74 OF 75 TRANSFERS UNDER 1.8 MILLION EUROS
In addition to its success on the field, the İzmir representative is also notable for its management approach, standing out with the Sport Republic management led by Rasmus Ankersen. Particularly prominent for its transfer policy, Göztepe has made 75 transfers since coming under the control of Sport Republic in 2022. In 74 of these transfers, the transfer fee paid was below 1.8 million Euros, with the only exception being the Brazilian star Romulo, who was brought in for 2.5 million Euros. With this approach, Göztepe has followed a new path in its transfer strategy compared to previous periods.
ROMULO SOLD FOR A RECORD TRANSFER FEE
Romulo, who was first loaned from Athletico Paranaense and then joined the team for a transfer fee of 2.5 million Euros, became Göztepe's most notable transfer. The Brazilian striker, who made a name for himself with his performance in a short time, attracted the interest of many European clubs and was transferred to Leipzig for 20 million Euros + 5 million Euros in the summer transfer period. With this agreement, Romulo was recorded as the most expensive sale in Göztepe's history.
BOUGHT FOR A LOW TRANSFER FEE AND SOLD HIGH
Göztepe continues to pursue its transfer policy resolutely. The İzmir team paid the highest transfer fee this season for the player Janderson, a forward from Vitoria, who was brought in for 1 million 500 thousand Euros. In the mid-season reinforcements, Guilherme Luiz joined the yellow-red team for relatively low fees of 1 million 400 thousand Euros, and Alexis Antunes for 500 thousand Euros.
On the other hand, the only player at Göztepe who reached the 1 million 800 thousand Euro limit is Emersonn, who joined the team during the 2024-2025 mid-season transfer period. The fee paid to Athletico Paranaense for the young player turned into over 100% profit with the sale to Toulouse for 4 million Euros just one year later.
