Famous actor Ufuk Özkan's search for a suitable donor for his liver failure treatment continues, while footage from 15 years ago has emerged. In 2011, Özkan visited patients waiting for organ transplants in Antalya, highlighting the importance of awareness regarding organ donation.
In July 2023, Ufuk Özkan was admitted to the hospital with cirrhosis and liver failure. The famous actor was hospitalized for approximately 14 days, and due to the improvement in his general condition and the absence of a need for a liver transplant at that time, he was discharged after necessary medication adjustments were made. It was reported that Özkan fell ill again in 2024 and underwent treatment for about a week, and in August 2025, he experienced a treatment process lasting approximately 20 days. After comprehensive evaluations during this period, a decision was made to perform a liver transplant, and Özkan was informed about the search for a donor.
THE PROCESS FOR A DONOR CONTINUES
It was learned that the process for finding a living donor for Özkan, who was hospitalized again on January 10, is continuing urgently. During this process, it was determined that 3 donor candidates could be medically suitable, but no definitive decision has been made regarding the donor selection, as legal processes have not been completed.
VISITED PATIENTS WHO RECEIVED ORGAN TRANSPLANTS 15 YEARS AGO
The famous actor Ufuk Özkan visited patients in the organ transplant department of a hospital in Antalya in 2011. Spending time with patients who had received or would receive transplants, Özkan provided morale to them. He stated that the main reason for his visit was the request of his close friend Cesur Devrim Altınok, who had undergone a kidney transplant, and he expressed that being alongside hopeful and strong individuals here, beyond just making people laugh on television, made him happy.

Özkan said, "I came here through my friend. We always talked about visiting patients. It was destined to happen here. I find it nice that organ transplants are featured in episodes of series. Every series must have some episodes that take place in a hospital. I find it important to have series that promote transplants."

Additionally, Özkan stated that during this visit, he filled out a form to donate his organs at a hospital where his father was being treated and received an organ donation card.
