Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, in his address to the UN General Assembly, called for military assistance and emphasized the necessity of weapons for peace. In his speech, Zelensky expressed his frustration with international institutions, stating, "This madness continues because international institutions are very weak. Being part of a long-standing military alliance does not automatically mean you are safe."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his speech at the 80th UN General Assembly, called for more military aid while expressing his dissatisfaction with international institutions.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a critical speech at the 80th United Nations General Assembly held in the United States.

"WEAPONS DECIDE WHO WILL SURVIVE"

Starting his speech with a call for more military aid, Zelensky stated, "If a nation wants peace, it still has to work on weapons. Weapons decide who will survive. You know very well that international law does not work properly unless you have strong friends willing to defend it. Without weapons, even this is useless," he said.

HE EXPRESSED DISSATISFACTION WITH INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

In his speech, Zelensky pointed out the ineffectiveness of international institutions, saying, "There is not a single international institution that can really stop this even when blood is shed. Institutions have become this weak. What can Sudan, Somalia, Palestine, or any people at war really expect from the UN or the global system? For decades, only statements have been made. Even everything happening in Gaza remains without a way out," he remarked.

Pointing to NATO, Zelensky stated, "Being part of a long-standing military alliance does not automatically mean you are safe. Recently, 19 Russian drones violated Polish airspace, and only 4 were shot down," he expressed.

"THIS MADNESS CONTINUES BECAUSE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS ARE WEAK"

The Ukrainian leader also said, "Last year at this meeting, I warned the world about the risk of a radiation disaster due to Russia's occupation of our largest nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia, but nothing has changed. Yesterday, there was another power outage at the plant, and Russia continued to fire at areas near nuclear facilities.

This madness continues because international institutions are very weak. Estonia had to call the UN Security Council to meet for the first time in its history due to Russian warplanes deliberately entering its airspace," he stated.
