In the investigation into Mustafa Sarıgül, new detention orders were issued after his bodyguard's allegations. Within the scope of the investigation, detention orders were issued for 10 more people, including the person responsible for the Şişli Municipality high school camps at the time, two close bodyguards of Sarıgül, the male barber in Ankara, a sister and brother who were allegedly abused when they were high school students, and cleaning personnel who allegedly filmed the footage.
Beşir Ömer Demir, who testified regarding images that surfaced on social media in 2024 involving Mustafa Sarıgül, claimed that he had been subjected to Sarıgül's sexual assaults since 2021. Arguing that he did not file a complaint for a long time because he was afraid and thought his family could be harmed, Demir said, "The sexual assaults Mustafa Sarıgül inflicted on me did not occur with my own consent."
"HARASSMENT" ALLEGATIONS FROM SARIGÜL'S BODYGUARD
Beşir Ömer Demir, who stated that he had known Mustafa Sarıgül since before 2014 and began working in his team in 2015, described what he experienced and the process by which the images were reflected in the press in his statement at the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Demir claimed that he remained silent for a long time due to his financial difficulties and concerns that harm could come to his family.
10 MORE DETENTION ORDERS ISSUED
After his bodyguard's allegations regarding Sarıgül's youth camps, the investigation was expanded. Detention orders were issued for 10 more people. It was also learned that those concerned include the person responsible for the then-Şişli Municipality high school camps, 2 close bodyguards of Sarıgül, a male barber in Ankara, a sister and brother who are alleged to have been abused while high school students, and a cleaning staff member who is alleged to have recorded the images.
"I STAYED SILENT OUT OF FEAR AND HELPLESSNESS"
Stating that he met Mustafa Sarıgül during youth camps, Demir said that they later remained in contact and that he began working in his team. Claiming that he was afraid of Sarıgül because he had been a politician for many years, Demir said in his statement, "Because he is also currently an active member of parliament, I was hesitant to tell the truth. All the events that happened to me occurred because of my fear and helplessness. Since I was also in a difficult economic situation, I stayed silent because I thought Mustafa Sarıgül could harm my family. I thought about suicide countless times. Because of this state of mind, I could not file a complaint."
"IT DID NOT HAPPEN WITH MY CONSENT"
Also speaking about the images that surfaced on social media in 2024, Demir claimed that he had been subjected to Sarıgül's sexual advances since 2021. Demir said, "The images involving Mustafa Sarıgül and me surfaced in the press in 2024. Since 2021, Mustafa Sarıgül has made numerous sexual advances toward me. I did not file a complaint about all these sexual assault advances because I was afraid and because I have a family I am obliged to support."
Stating that after the images emerged he signed a document that he claimed had been prepared by Sarıgül's lawyers, Demir said, "After the images came out in 2024, I could not speak because I signed the paper prepared by Mustafa Sarıgül's lawyers, which stated that I would pay a 100,000-euro penalty if I spoke about Mustafa Sarıgül."
"BECAUSE I THOUGHT OF SUICIDE, HIS LAWYER PAID 150 THOUSAND DOLLARS"
Continuing his statements, Demir said, "I was subjected to Mustafa Sarıgül's sexual assault countless times for 3 years. Because my reputation was damaged and I thought about suicide, his lawyer paid 150 thousand dollars for my child's future. Because Mustafa Sarıgül is a member of parliament and a powerful politician in the New Party, the truth of these events did not come to light."
HE DESCRIBED THE PROCESS OF HOW THE IMAGES WERE RECORDED
Claiming that he was sexually assaulted at Sarıgül's home in Platin Residences in Istanbul and at the Angora houses in Ankara, Demir said, "These events will also come to light when my records are examined. In addition, when the video that surfaced in the press is examined, my victimization will become clear. The images in question were planned and recorded at the time by Uzbek cleaning worker Firuzan and driver Turgut Alkan, who were staying with Mustafa Sarıgül. After the images were recorded, I heard that a person named Caner Dursun took them from Turgut Alkan and tried to sell them for money."
"THERE ARE OTHER VICTIMS TOO"
Demir also said, "It is impossible to understand what kind of mental structure Mustafa Sarıgül has. He would have sexual relations with both men and women. In fact, I heard that there is another person working as a barber in Ankara who, like me, was a victim. I had also heard about this person from a person named Firuzan, an Uzbek citizen who did cleaning work for Mustafa Sarıgül."
