17 police officers were killed and many others wounded in a terrorist attack on the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Yobe State, Nigeria. Police spokesperson Anthony Placid also stated that some soldiers who tried to repel the attack lost their lives.
The Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Buni Yadi, Yobe State, Nigeria, was targeted by terrorists. Police Spokesperson Anthony Placid reported that 17 police officers were killed in the attack on May 8.
Placid stated that many people were injured in the attack and that some soldiers from the Nigerian army who attempted to repel the assault also lost their lives.
"BRAVE AND PATRIOTIC PERSONNEL"
Nigerian Police Inspector General Olatunji Rilwan Disu expressed that the police officers who died in the attack were personnel who served selflessly for the country's security.
Disu offered condolences to the families of the fallen security personnel and emphasized that the sacrifices of the security forces would not be forgotten.
