 According to information reported by the Philippines News Agency (PNA), Civil Defense Office (OCD) official Diego Mariano announced the latest extent of the disaster at a press conference. Mariano stated that thousands of homes had been submerged due to heavy rains and reported that more than 24,000 people are currently housed in 523 evacuation centers.

MORE THAN 5 MILLION PEOPLE AFFECTED

 It was noted that the number of people directly affected by the adverse weather across the country has exceeded 5 million. Search and Rescue Efforts Continue. According to official figures released, 17 people were injured in the disaster, while search efforts continue for 1 person who was swept away by currents or trapped under a landslide. Authorities warned that rains could persist in the region and maintained a state of alert against the risk of flooding and landslides.
