Two people have been detained in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Sedef Güler, who was found wrapped in a carpet and tied with dumbbells before being thrown into the sea in Istanbul. It was determined that one of the suspects, Fırat B., took the body of Sedef Güler from the house and threw it off the bridge. In his statement, the suspect said, "My friend called me. When I went home, the girl was already dead. We made a plan to get rid of the body. We bought a chain from the hardware store and wrapped it around the body. Then we took it in a car and threw it off the bridge."

FOUND WRAPPED IN A CARPET AND CHAINED
In Büyükçekmece, the body of a woman wrapped in a carpet was found by fishermen in the sea the day before yesterday. During the examination, the police determined that the young woman's body was also chained and a 10-kilogram weight was attached to make it heavier. It was also determined that the hands and feet of the tied body were unrecognizable.
IDENTITY OF THE BODY IDENTIFIED THROUGH FINGERPRINTS
As a result of the examination, the police determined that the body, believed to be between 20-30 years old and recently killed, belonged to a young woman named Sedef Güler through fingerprint records. Following this development, individuals who had the last contact with the young woman were identified through her cell phone records. All the security cameras in the vicinity were also examined.
2 OUT OF 3 IDENTIFIED INDIVIDUALS ARE IN CUSTODY
As a result of their work, the police identified the identities of 3 individuals related to the incident. The first person to be caught was O.Ö., who had the last conversation with the young woman on social media. The detained suspect stated that he had no connection to the incident.

Subsequently, during the examination of the security cameras in the area, it was observed that a car stopped briefly on the Büyükçekmece bridge and something was thrown out of the vehicle. As a result, the license plate of the car was identified. It was determined that the car was driven by a person named Yavuz G. Upon intelligence work, it was discovered that Fırat B. was also in the car during the incident, and an operation was initiated.
HOUSE WHERE THE YOUNG GIRL WAS MURDERED FOUND
The police detained Fırat B. in the rented house where he lived in Beylikdüzü. During the examination, it was determined that the murder took place in this house. The police seized items such as scarves, shawls, and ropes that could have been used to commit the murder, and sent them to the forensic police laboratory for examination.

In his initial interrogation at the Homicide Bureau, Fırat B. described the incident, stating that he was not at his own house at the time and went to the house on his friend's phone. He said, "When I arrived, the girl was already dead. We discussed how to get rid of the body and made a plan. We bought a chain from a hardware store. We put the body in a blanket and wrapped it with a chain to make it heavier. We also tied a dumbbell we found in the house to the chain. Then we put it in the car and threw it off the bridge."
THE FUGITIVE SUSPECT HAS AN 8-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE
The police stated that the car used to transport the body was found and the investigation is ongoing. It was determined that Yavuz G., who is wanted as a fugitive in the case, has multiple police records for drug use and a confirmed 8-year prison sentence. Operations are underway to apprehend the suspect. Officials stated that the investigation into the incident is multidimensional and additional surveillance permission has been obtained from the prosecutor's office regarding the detained suspects.
