Three workers died after being electrocuted by a high-voltage line and falling into a well at an iron and steel plant in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun.

The names of the 3 workers who lost their lives in a workplace accident at the Yeşilyurt Iron and Steel Factory in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun have been announced.

3 WORKERS ELECTROCUTED LOSE THEIR LIVES

The incident occurred in the evening hours at an iron and steel factory located in the Tekkeköy district Organized Industrial Zone. Three workers, whose names were not immediately known, were electrocuted by a high-voltage line and fell into a pit. Upon notification, police, fire brigade, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene. A health team confirmed during the inspection that all three workers had died. After the investigation at the scene, the lifeless bodies of the workers were removed from the pit and taken to the morgue for an autopsy.

NAMES ANNOUNCED

Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı confirmed in a statement regarding the incident that the 3 workers died from electrocution. Tavlı conveyed his condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased workers.

It was learned that the factory workers Naci Gezer (46), Mustafa İnanç (50), and Yunus Çekiç (47) died in the accident. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
